New generation GAZelle NEXT Van won «LCV/Pickup» nomination of the fourth annual National Award of Automotive Experts «TOP-5 AUTO». The jury of the contest highly praised engineering solutions, functionality and comfort of the vehicle. GAZ Group launched production of the new model in October 2015.
GAZelle NEXT Van, which is a new development of Gorky Automobile Plant of GAZ Group, being a part of Basic Element that is one of the biggest Russian diversified industrial groups, won «Van» nomination of the annual national award «Russian Vehicle of the Year 2016». The winners were selected by means of electronic voting of 934 thousand people from 85 regions of Russia.
GAZ brand wins the first place by results of survey of Dealer Satisfaction Index, DSI, which is annually held by Ernst&Young (EY) by order of Association of Russian Automotive Dealers (RAD). This is the fifth consecutive victory of GAZ brand in this prestigious survey. Gorky automobile plant of “GAZ Group” included has been the leader of the DSI from 2013.
The Project of GAZ Group, part of one of the major Russian diversified groups — Basic Element, for mass production of the GAZelle NEXT panel van was announced the Investment Project of 2015 in the N. Novgorod Region. This model led GAZ Group into the segment of over 13 m3 vans where foreign OEM’s only had been present in the Russian market before. Large-scale modernization of production was carried out at GAZ within the framework of preparation for the new model production. The project investments amount to roughly RUR 9 B.
GAZ Group, being a part of Basic Element, which is one of the biggest Russian diversified industrial groups, won the award of the 19th International Automotive Forum «Adam Smith Conference» for its new generation GAZelle NEXT Van project. The award was granted to the President of GAZ Group Vadim Sorokin at Adam Smith Forum that took place on the 15th — 17th of March.
GAZelle Business (GAZ-2705) became the winner of the Annual national award “Car of the Year in Russia”. GAZelle Business won the 1st place in the category “Vans”. The winners were determined by voting via internet and electronic terminals. The total number of voters this year was 938,000 people.
The metal van GAZelle is one of the most common commercial vehicles in Russia. According to the level of popularity it is second only to a drop-side vehicle “GAZelle” (GAZ-3302). Since 1995 more than 400 thousand vehicles have been manufactured. Over the years of its existence, the model GAZ-2705 has been seriously upgraded twice, and for today it remains the most popular vehicle in Russia in the segment of commercial vans with GVW of 3.5 tons.
Over recent years it has been the third victory of the GAZ brand in the competition “Car of the Year in Russia”. In 2012 and 2013 Sobol (GAZ-2752) won first place twice in the category of “Light vans”.
The GAZ brand became the first on the results of the auto dealer satisfaction study (Dealer Satisfaction Index, DSI), which is held annually by Ernst & Young on demand of the Association “Russian Automobile Dealers” (RAD). This is the third consecutive victory of the GAZ brand in this prestigious study. GAZ Plant of the GAZ Group, which is part of one of Russia’s largest diversified industrial group — Basic Element, was also the DSI rating leader in 2013 and 2014.

The extended Gazelle Next vehicle has won the second annual Top 5 Vehicles national automotive expert prize in the “Light commercial vehicle/pickup” nomination. The extended Gazelle Next became the first and the only Russian vehicle thus far to win in this prestigious competition.
The Top 5 Vehicles national automotive expert prize was established in 2012 by the National Academy for the Automotive Business. The aim of the prize is to identify the best vehicles in five major nominations at the year-end. The expert panel of the prize includes 30 reputable Russian automotive journalists. The votes are counted and the panel members’ ballots are certified by KPMG specialists, one of the leading audit companies in the world.
Gorky Automobile Plant of GAZ Group was granted with a special award of annual contest “The Best Commercial Vehicle of Russia” for successful development of Russian commercial vehicles market.
Gorky Automobile Plant has launched three models of the Gazelle NEXT, the new generation LCV, since 2013: a cargo van, a cargo and passenger van and a bus. Moreover, several current models were significantly upgraded: the Sadko GAZ-3308 SUV, the Gazelle Business with bifuel CNG engine, the Gazelle and the Sobol 4X4 with new powertrain. In the near future it is planned to start serial production of a new generation medium duty truck Gazon NEXT in several configurations.
This year GAZ has taken the first place in all six categories of the survey. This is the first win of such scale in the project’s history. The final result of GAZ brand is 4,69 points (in October 2013 it was 4,55 points). This tenth survey collected results from 490 dealerships representing 36 vehicle brands.
The survey is based on the poll results of sales and service companies’ managers and car marketing professionals, who judge car manufacturers through six criteria: “Manufacturer’s support of new vehicles’ sales”; “Aftersales service”; “Advertising and promotion”; “Financial relations”; “Retention and development of dealer network” and “Communication and feedback support”.
Previously GAZ already won the survey in November 2013, and before that the company had taken the second place twice. The rating of GAZ has been constantly growing since the beginning of such surveys in 2008: the 22nd, the 8th, the 2nd and the 1st place.

533 dealer centers took part in the survey. They estimated work of 35 Russian and foreign automotive brands, which constitute about 60% of new vehicle sales volume in Russia following the results of 9 months in 2013.
The distribution network of GAZ brand is not only the largest in Russia among commercial vehicles manufacturers, but is also the most rapidly growing one. Starting in 2013, 14 new original service and sales centers have already been opened.
Some 385 models, officially presented in Russia as of the date of voting, competed for the title of ‘best of the best’ in 23 categories, with winners chosen by voting online and with electronic terminals. The voting was held on January 1 – March 31, 2013. This year 1.4 mln people from all over Russia gave their votes.
Light commercial vehicle GAZ-2752 Sobol BUSINESS has won the annual national award “Vehicle of the year in Russia 2013” in “Light Vans” category. Sobol repeated last year’s success, when it became the first Russian vehicle to receive this prestigious award.

At the contest vehicles are evaluated by people who are professionally involved in automotive transport industry. These are experts who constantly monitor Russian commercial vehicles market and representing major automobile magazines of our country. Many experts were invited for the contest rendering thereby maximum evaluation credibility.

For the best engineering solution for emergency rescue services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia Valdai-based (GAZ 33106) special vehicle was awarded within the framework of “National Security 2012” international contest; it was also presented with a diploma and “Guarantee of Quality and Safety” medal.
GAZelle BUSINESS GAZ-3302, minibus GAZ-3221 were recognized as winners of categories for “Van of the year in Russia (small class)”, “City bus of the year in Russia (small class)” in “The best commercial automotive transport of the year in Russia” contest organized within the framework of the 7th International Automotive Transport Forum MAF-2011.
Expert council consisted of professionals of automotive transport sphere: heads of large automobile operating companies engaged in passenger and cargo transportation, representatives of public authorities, professional public organizations, field research institutes and specialized mass media.
GAZelle-BUSINESS has become the best due to optimal configuration of engineering and economic features. Excellent consumer features of the vehicle, ease of control, high safety factor, its fitness for Russian operational conditions are complemented by high economic efficiency and low owning cost. More than 120 thousands of GAZelle-BUSINESS vehicles sold since February 2010, when the model had been launched, show that Russian consumers’ choice matched the choice of the Expert council of “The best commercial automotive transport of the year 2011” contest.
GAZ Group received a letter of gratitude from the State Duma of the Russian Federation for implementation of mobile health centers project mounted on popular Sobol-BUSINESS vehicles. Ambulance vehicles were designed by GAZ Group together with All-Russian Public Organization National Health League. Creation of a network of mobile centers for initial diagnostics is an excellent example of public-private partnership in a socially significant project for increase of longevity held by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation. 695 health centers have already been established in all Russian towns within the framework of this program. First year of operation showed high relevance of on-site examinations of employees, rural population, and public sector workers.
Mobile health centers are furnished with the same equipment as fixed centers, and are mounted on GAZ models, which have already proved their high reliability and practicability in conditions requiring first-aid and intensive care.
Having participated in quality increase and competitiveness of products in 2011, GAZ Group received official award, Honorary Standard of the Governor of Nizhniy Novgorod Region. Last year the company actively developed its primary product ? light commercial vehicles GAZelle- BUSINESS, having significantly increased vehicle reliability and comfort level.
The Honorary Standard is presented in recognition of the company’s success in financial and economic activities, expanding of production capacity, mastering high technologies, manufacturing competitive products, and realization of development plans for 2011.
